Providing local, exceptional quality products in smaller batches. Not everyone needs large truckloads of material or wants to haul 10+ bags of soil from the garden store—this is where Soil and Cedar comes in. We deliver exactly what you need, saving you time and effort while ensuring your garden thrives. As more people embrace gardening, whether for beauty or homegrown food, the need for durable, long-lasting materials has never been greater.

Meet Adam Pierce, the driving force behind Soil and Cedar. A Charlottesville local, outdoor enthusiast, and recent gardening convert, Adam wears many hats—owner, operator, raised bed builder, and delivery driver. With a background working for small but mighty Charlottesville businesses like Rivanna River Company and Panorama Paydirt and a 6 month stint captaining his own sailboat to the Bahamas, Adam brings deep expertise in garden materials, woodworking, and logistics. Passionate about helping others create and enjoy their outdoor spaces, he is committed to providing locally sourced, high-quality products that support both gardeners and the local community. Adam lives just outside of Charlottesville with his wife Hannah, black lab Tilly and is surrounded by a lot of plants and wood projects. In his free time he enjoys being on the water- whether that be boating, sailing, kayaking or fishing.
